Jacob Creel is a pharmacy leader with 16 years of clinical and compliance experience who is passionate about enabling the pharmacy profession to thrive and deliver the care communities desperately need. A licensed pharmacist in four states and a Certified Healthcare Compliance professional, Jacob is responsible for regulatory compliance and regulatory affairs for over 2,100 pharmacies across 19 states for a major retail pharmacy chain. His background encompasses everything from hands-on pharmacy management to enterprise-level risk mitigation, patient safety programs, and regulatory strategy—giving him an intimate understanding of the real pressures compliance professionals face and the systemic barriers pharmacies navigate every day.
What sets Jacob apart is his conviction that better tools create better outcomes. A self-taught full-stack developer proficient in Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, SQL, PostgreSQL with pgvector, AWS infrastructure, and Power BI, he has spent years building data solutions and process improvements that transform how pharmacy teams work. He's developed algorithms to detect regulatory risks, created dashboards that give leaders visibility into compliance metrics across multiple jurisdictions, and designed automation that eliminates manual reporting work. Beyond internal compliance, Jacob created RPh-Shield, an anonymous PBM abuse tracker that enables pharmacies to document and aggregate evidence of underpayments, excessive clawbacks, and other practices that undermine pharmacy economics—giving the profession a unified voice in advocating for fair reimbursement.
This unique combination of pharmacy expertise and technical skills led to the creation of PythiaRX, an AI-powered regulatory intelligence platform built with a modern full-stack architecture (React frontend, FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL database with vector search) that fundamentally changes how pharmacy compliance professionals stay ahead of regulatory changes. Rather than scrambling after regulations are finalized, PythiaRX aggregates regulations from multiple federal and state sources and uses AI to help teams understand what's coming—enabling proactive planning instead of reactive firefighting.
Jacob's mission is clear: build technology that empowers pharmacists to spend less time on administrative burden and regulatory compliance, and more time delivering the clinical care and patient advocacy that defines the profession. He believes that when you combine pharmacy domain expertise with modern technology, you solve problems that nobody else can see—and you help the profession reclaim its rightful place in healthcare.
